Illegals Immigrants in the Military?

What do you think of once or current illegal immigrants serving in the military.
Do you think Illegal Immigrants should be able to serve in the military to gain legal status and citizenship?

for an example Rafael Peralta,Jesus Suarez, and
Jose Gutierrez.

http://www.rafaelperalta.org/

Rafael Peralta is awaiting for Presidential Approval to receive a medal of honor for “falling on a grenade” to save 5 other Marines.

It’s amazing how some US born Citizens in the Military aren’t as selfless as this man, who at first not wanted here, yet he gave his life for his adopted Country

Jose Gutierrez was an Illegal Immigrant from Guatemala and was one of the first Combat Casualties in the 2003 Invasion of Iraq.

Jesus Suarez, 20, of Escondido, California.
Killed in combat.
A native of Tijuana, Mexico, Suarez immigrated to the United States with his family in the late 1990s and graduated from Escondido’s Valley High School in 2001. He leaves behind a wife and a baby,Erik.
Do you approve of these men serving in our Armed Forces?

answers:

Citizenship is not an award, it is a right for a person fighting for a country! They should have been given citizenship on enlisting itself not posthumously. They deserve it more than those that have never fought for the country and retain citizenship by birth alone.

Steven asks…

What is your take on Kennedy talks about the fight for immigration reform?

The El Piolín radio show, the most popular Spanish-language radio show in America (strike that – see the update below – it is the most popular radio show in any language nationwide), with millions of listeners in California and nationwide, gave a BIG buildup for Teddy at 7:40 a.m. California time with a three minute pre-produced bio calling him “the best senator in America” highlighting Kennedy family history and his leadership on education, health care and immigration reform. Here are my notes:

- Teddy comes on, jokes that after hearing that he wants to come on the show every day after hearing the intro. Says he’s challenging Arnold Schwarzenneger (a McCain supporter and Kennedy in-law) to an arm wrestling contest to decide which – Obama or McCain – will be president, and he wants show host Eddie Sotelo to be the judge. Sotelo agrees.

- Kennedy talks about the fight for immigration reform he waged “and at my side from the beginning was Barack Obama.”

- “Obama’s the one that can unite America to make this and other changes happen. He unites old and young, East and West, to bring change.”

- Sotelo translates his words.

- Kennedy: “Only two senators marched for immigrant rights on May 1, 2006, one in Washington and the other in Chicago. I marched in Washington and Barack Obama marched in Chicago. He was not afraid to stand up when others wouldn’t.”

- Obama has led in health care for children, in education and jobs.

- “Obama will lead the change and I will be there at his side.”

- “70,000 Hispanics have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. More than 11 percent of all the casualties in this war have been Hispanic. The Hispanic youth are patriotic and have served this country.”

- “I’m committed to coming back on the immigration bill and Barack Obama will be with me. He is the one candidate who has said that he can do this in his first term. There’s too many people that are living in the shadows. Men and women of dignity who love their families who love their faith. I’m on their side and Barack Obama is on their side.”

- Sotelo continues translating for his listeners.

- Kennedy pushes his event for Obama with US Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-California) at East Los Angeles Community College, 9:30 a.m. tomorrow. Makes a “personal invitation” to the listeners to attend.

- “I’ll do my best to be there after my show,” says Sotelo.

- Kennedy stresses again that we need Obama to make the changes we want.

- Sotelo begins a series of gag questions (it’s a comedy show) for Kennedy, saying, “Senator, please finish each sentence…”

- “My most embarrassing experience is…?” Kennedy: “Singing ‘Jalisco’ on your radio show. I didn’t sing it with all the technique it deserves. I’ve been practicing. Then he sings a few bars.”

- “My biggest regret is…?” Kennedy: “I haven’t had enough time on the El Piolin radio show.” Says he wants to be a co-host “to improve the ratings.”

- “I have a question for you, Eddie: Will it be the Piolin-Kennedy show or the Kennedy-Piolin show?”

- Sotelo: “Kennedy-Piolin because we really respect you and you’re the greatest senator.” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/al-giordano/ted-kennedy-pushes-immigr_b_84314.html
Ted Kennedy was expelled from Harvard for cheating. He left his mistress to die in a frozen river – rather than get her help – because he was worried about his career. The only reason he still in the senate is that he is a Kennedy. There is nothing he could say that I want to hear. Vote for Obama and we will give you amnesty. This is the message that Obama wants Kennedy to sell to Latinos

answers:

People that are part of the elite rich like the Kennedy’s view social issues as their hobby. It gives then a sense of power to redistribute wealth to the uneducated and the poor. The main problem is that they are not using their own money. They are taking from the hard working middle class that is expected to pay the bulk of the taxes. Illegal immigrants do not walk the red carpet, nor do they hang out in the Hampton’s. So illegals do not impact the Kennedy’s of the world. Granting amnesty is just their way of acquiring more dependent voters.

Martial law in U.S.? Rule by fear power? does power corrupt?

by John W. Whitehead

DIGG THIS

“Those who do not remember the past are condemned to relive it.”
~ George Santayana

On May 9, 2007, with little attention from the snoozing media, George W. Bush issued a “presidential directive” that allows him to assume control of the federal government following a “catastrophic emergency.”

Although the directive doesn’t specifically identify the types of emergencies that would qualify as “catastrophic,” it is vague enough to encompass “any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government function.” As Matthew Rothschild of The Progressive noted, it could include “another 9/11, or another Katrina, or a major earthquake in California.” In fact, the language is so broad that it could include almost anything the public is led to believe might have a major impact on the country. Not surprisingly, the president’s order comes neatly packaged within the trappings of national security and safety.

This directive followed on the heels of a bill, which I have previously written about, that was pushed through Congress and which gave the president the power to declare martial law and establish a dictatorship. Under these provisions, the president can now use the military as a domestic police force in response to a natural disaster, disease outbreak, terrorist attack or any “other condition.”

In other words, the groundwork has been laid for the president of the United States to do away with our democracy, such as it is, and establish a dictatorship. The president, in effect, has become a power unto himself.

Having said that, I’m aware that I have opened myself up to accusations of paranoia and alarmist sentiment. However, if it is paranoid or alarmist to recognize the potential for abuse and urge Americans to guard against it, then so be it. It’s time to sound the alarm.

If we continue down this road, there can be no surprise about what awaits us at the end. After all, it is a tale that has been told time and again throughout history. For example, over 70 years ago, the citizens of another democratic world power elected a leader who promised to protect them from all dangers. In return for this protection, and under the auspice of fighting terrorism, he was given absolute power.

This leader went to great lengths to make his rise to power appear both legal and necessary, masterfully manipulating much of the citizenry and their government leaders. Unnerved by threats of domestic terrorism and foreign invaders, the people had little idea that the domestic turmoil of the times – such as street rioting and the fear of Communism taking over the country – was staged by the leader in an effort to create fear and later capitalize on it. In the ensuing months, this charismatic leader ushered in a series of legislative measures that suspended civil liberties and habeas corpus rights and empowered him as a dictator.

On March 23, 1933, the nation’s legislative body passed the Enabling Act, formally referred to as the “Law to Remedy the Distress of the People and the Nation,” which appeared benign and allowed the leader to pass laws by decree in times of emergency. What it succeeded in doing, however, was ensuring that the leader became a law unto himself. The leader’s name was Adolf Hitler. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Yet history has a way of repeating itself. Hitler’s rise to power should serve as a stark lesson to always be leery of granting any government leader sweeping powers. But we are clearly not heeding that lesson.

Americans are being lulled to sleep by the government’s constant warning that terror and destruction lurk around the corner. Color-coded terrorism threat levels and reports of alleged terrorism plots are constantly paraded before us. Indeed, since 9/11, the American people have been kept in a state of constant fear and expectation of yet another terrorist attack or, more subtly, another Katrina. Thus, while the recent spate of directives giving the U.S. president broad powers to supposedly ensure America’s safety and security from terrorism and natural disaster should serve as a warning, they have caused barely a ripple among the media or the masses.

President Bush has assured us that he will do whatever it takes to keep America safe, and Americans have blindly trusted him. How did he reward that trust? First, he claimed the authority to permanently imprison American citizens alleged to be so-called “enemy combatants.” Then he asserted his right to order government intelligence agencies to not only spy on America’s enemies but also on Americans. Now he has quietly and unobtrusively granted himself the power to take control of the government in the event of a vaguely defined national emergency.

James Madison, the father of our Constitution, said that Americans should take alarm at the first experiment upon their liberties. But this latest “presidential directive” is not the first attack on our liberties, and I dare say it will not be the last. We’d better open our eyes soon, lest we wake up one morning and find that we live under a new regime. Only, this time, it will be one of our own making.

answers:

Too right.

I am a history buff, fluent in German, and I spent a year at a German University; and when the second tower fell on 11/9/01 (as a German would write it) I told my wife that this would prove to be our Reichstag Fire. I believe that events have borne my position out.

On the bright side, we have no Fuehrer to speak of, and it was devotion to Hitler’s person that kept his movement alive.

There is (and may there never be) a Bush Youth group along the lines of the Hitlerjugend.

Bush’s job approval is down around 30%, and I don’t think there are many American soldiers willing to fire on peaceful American civilians, yet. Some of these mercenaries we are granting American citizenship in exchange for service in Iraq might be, but the natives aren’t yet.

Maybe enough “illegal immigration!!!” hysteria will change that, I don’t know.

It seems to me that people are waking up. For the martial law fear trip to work, we have to believe that our survival is at stake, and we would have to be attacked again, and devastatingly, for us to buy it.

Any devastating attack in the US now would prove that Bush’s agenda has failed, and he would lose what support he still has.

Keep the faith, stay awake, and get to know your neighbors.

Suppose two idential magnitude 6 earthquakes occur in two different locations?

Suppose two identical magnitude 6 earthquakes occur in two different locations. The locations are San Diego, California and Istanbul, Turkey. Based on what you know from Chapter 5, which location would likely suffer the most casualties and why?

answers:

I don’t know anything about Chapter 5, but Istanbul.
It is a very big city, and there is unplanned urbanization. Many buildings are not ready for a big earth quake.

I’m a retired NYC detective and have GHI & Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I also have Medicare Parts A & B?

My question is, I’m thinking of relocating to central California. Will I be covered in the event of a medical problem. I’m a 9/11 casualty who spent over 1000 hours on the Pile and retired after 21 years of service. Any information will be appreciated. Also, my drug coverage plan is covered by the Detectives Union. Will it be accepted in California? My last plan was. Thank You.

answers:

Hey John, I agree with oldman..I thought detectives are smart and should investigate the insurance companies to find out…lol..=)

Maria asks…

How would the Security Council react to an new outbreak of viral disease, similar to Swine Flu?

It is 2014 and a crisis in Mexico has health services worldwide on red alert. A new form of atypical bacterial pneumonia (ABP) has emerged in Mexico City. It is uncommonly contagious and in many cases fatal. There is currently no known vaccine. Due to Mexico City’s high population density and large slum areas, the disease has spread rapidly through the city and across the country. In the six days since ABP was first recognised, 82 people have been confirmed dead due to the disease. However, the actual casualty rate is likely to be much higher with some estimates suggesting the number is well above 500. It is feared that a large number of infected persons may have travelled into the United States and other American countries. Already in these countries, people have been admitted to health services displaying symptoms consistent with ABP. There is also a possibility that carriers may also have travelled further afield but at this stage, there is no way of confirming where that might be.The World Health Organisation (WHO) is coordinating efforts to develop an effective vaccine. It is also closely monitoring how the disease is spreading but despite the reports of new cases being discovered in other countries, is not yet prepared to declare the outbreak of a pandemic. It is however recommending against travelling to Mexico. At present though, the United States is the only nation that has implemented a formal ban on travel to and from Mexico.
With panic beginning to take hold and emergency services across the country stretched, particularly in Mexico City, violence has broken out in a number of urban centres. To provide assistance in quelling the unrest, the Mexican government has reassigned a large number of the armed forces it stations along its borders to those urban centres. The reduced border protection coupled with the panic caused by the outbreak has led to a surge in illegal traffic across the Mexican-US border. In response, the United States has been forced to mobilise the national guards of Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and California to supplement its stretched border patrol units. This has been somewhat effective in reducing the number of Mexicans entering illegally however the National Guardsman have been at times using extreme force with one incident resulting in the death of seven Mexican evacuees. Many states have been quick to condemn this incident. There is also an increase in Mexicans fleeing across the Southeastern borders into Belize and Guatemala. Given the there are signs that ABP has manifested in both countries, Guatemala’s numerous domestic issues and the region’s history of instability, it is possible that an unmitigated surge of Mexican immigrants could cause it to descend once more into volatility.
2
While no request has been made of the Security Council to take action, there are many who believe this constitutes a sufficient threat to peace and security that it warrants the Council’s immediate attention.
Questions to Consider
- How susceptible might the United Kingdom be to an outbreak of ABP?
- Does this outbreak of ABP constitute a threat to regional peace and security?
- Should the Security Council play a role or should it be left the situation be left to the WHO?
What might that role be?
- To prevent the spread of ABP to other continents, should the Security Council go further
than the WHO and call for all states to place actual restrictions on international travel to
and from Mexico?
- What other measures do you think might be necessary?

answers:

They are highly versed on the subject and their only problem would be if a country was not willing to spend the money on a vaccine. Check out this link to the security council website and see what they have ready for such an event. Http://www.un.org/Docs/sc/

Daniel asks…

Does this sound good?

I’m writing something and I was wondering if this captured your attention? If it didn’t can you give me ways to improve? This is the veerrry beginning, hardest part of writing for me is the first and very last sentence.

Chapter 1:
“Come on Annie, please? You owe me!” he yelled as she stopped walking, mid stride.
Chase McCreary was currently trying to convince his best friend, technical advisor, and secondary strategist, to help in a new subject. Annie refused when he even brought it up, she hated these kind of subjects.
Chase worked for the California Corps, or CC, in Los Angeles, California, in the year 2154. The California Corps was a new and improved form of law enforcement in the 22nd century. There was no longer anything called police officers, or police departments. Now there were Corps, and undertakers. Many people believed that was a coincidence that the corps workers were called undertakers.
Annie swiveled back around to face him, her fiery grey eyes meeting his blue ones.
“How? How do you owe me?” she asked stepping his way.
Chase visibly flinched before taking a step back. He hadn’t really thought this through as well as he should’ve. Now he might just pay for it. If there was one thing he was afraid of, it was Annie Greer.
“Uhm,” he hesitated, “I helped save your system!” he said triumphantly, “remember that?”
Annie was the Los Angeles’ CC department’s own personal technical support system, and Chase’s personal tech advisor for subject cases. Her father was the creator of the systems which now supported CC, making her father a thankless existence to the world and it’s safety. She had continued to improve the systems after her father passed away, and now she helps the lab by giving them ideas.
Annie rolled her eyes and turned back around to walk away.
“That wasn’t you Chase, that was Nick, and all you did, was flick a switch!” She walked over to the elevators and angrily punched the garage button.
“Look, Annie please? I’m begging you,” he pleaded, “I need you and only you for this, your my partner, please help me in this.” When she didn’t turn around, he moved to last resorts.
“Annie, look at me,” he said, “look.” When she turned around she was expecting to see him in front of her, but instead he was on the floor, on his knees.
“I am on the floor, literally on my knees, begging you to help me,” he said clasping his hands together.
“And I need you, Annie Greer to help me, Chase McCreary, in taking out Duncan Croft, one of the world’s most wanted people. I know you wouldn’t let me go out there alone and die, right?” He threw in his puppy dog eyes for added effect and saw Annie’s walls crumbling. Right before Chase thought he needed to start groveling, she said, shaking her head at his antics.
“Fine,” she said. But before he could cheer in happiness, she held out her to stop him.
“But,” she said. She heard him mutter, “I hate that word.”
“But,” she said with more emphasis, “you do what I say, when I say and how I say, understood?”
Chase hesitated, he hated not being able to control his own endeavors. He didn’t like casualties on a mission which was why he liked to control them.
He was the kind of person who took blame when it wasn’t necessary. The kind of person who couldn’t believe they were a hundred percent perfect, unless it was implanted into their mind by some space age machine, and even then his thoughts would still be on rocky waters. He is a loyal, dedicated, trustworthy, honest, dependable, supportive, and any other well-meaning adjective in the dictionary, who would go through any lengths to protect those he cares about. He believes that one needs to be physically strong and physically able to take down criminals or anyone who tries to harm innocent people. He uses his intellect and his intuition to solve any problem which he crosses. Many people refer to him as a hero. He refers to himself as any other citizen wanting to help those that really need it, those that can’t help themselves. He hated to see people being bullied, and he has always had the urge to help.
“Fine,” he said, nodding his head, “but can I at least make my team?” When everything was agreed upon, Chase got off the floor and squeezed Annie into a hug.
“Thank you!” he yelled, running away after he let go, “I owe you one!”
